Welcome to my site. I'm Leah, the Gourmet Goddess. I specialize in desserts but
cater to all events with any type of food to make your party special.
My business started out when friends and their friends started asking for cakes for their
special occasions. I ended up doing several charity events which allowed many others to
taste my delicacies! 168 York Street Cafe in New Haven hired me exclusively to
create their desserts on a weekly basis.
Due to the overwhelming demand for my desserts and my desire to help the community,
I became active in several fundraising events. On January 25, 2009, I'll be involved in
a fundraiser for the American Red Cross Middlesex Community chapter. Chocolate to
the Rescue is an excellent opportunity to help the only homeless shelter in Middlesex
County. In March, I'll be doing my 4th consecutive year for the True Colors
organization event, Chocolate and Cheesecake for a Cause. The benefit continues to grow
every year and I'm now suppling 15 cheesecakes of all different varieties and 200 truffles.

I learned everything I know from my wonderful mother, Lynn. I grew up in a haze of
chocolate as her business, The Truffle, was a large part of my formative years. She
retired from the business in my high school years and before her passing it was requested
that I learn to make the hand-dipped truffles. I'm very blessed to have mastered the
art and to be highly complimented on them as being as wonderful as my mothers. My
mother's business consisted of at least 20 different types of truffles. I myself am only
up to 5 flavors but am working on it!
